Tina Rankin, President

Tina is an accomplished, high energy IT leader with 18 years experience in large scale software implementations for Fortune 500 companies. She has a strong passion for helping organizations leverage their technology investments to meet strategic and tactical goals, managing projects effectively, and promoting adult learning. Her strong design skills, technical knowledge, and expansive business experience give her a rare vantage point on the role of technology in business, as well as knowledge transfer technologies in the corporate environment. She is recognized as a training management expert in the design and development of innovative IT training programs, with experience in healthcare, insurance, banking, and manufacturing industries as well as sales/marketing, legal, accounting, engineering, international, and PMO. Recent projects include Siebel 7.7 and ITIL-compliant Remedy 6.3 Help Desk and Change Management implementations. Tina’s keen insight and visionary approach make her a popular speaker at national and local training and support conferences.

In 1988, Tina founded Valley Micro Associates, Inc on a revolutionary model that used veteran independent IT consultants to train Fortune 500 and government technical personnel throughout the U.S. in their transition to PC technologies. The firm became a partner level Microsoft Certified Technical Education Center in the mid ‘90s. Due to her innovative style and commitment to quality, she was recognized by Microsoft as a visionary and asked to participate in several national training and education task forces. In 1998, Tina sold Valley Micro Associates and formed Rankin & Associates, Inc., to focus on providing customized technology services for corporate and government accounts.

Tina received her B.A., Business Administration, from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul. Her certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP) and MCSE (NT4). She also holds the CompTIA certifications of CTT, A+, i-Net+, e-Biz+, and IT Project+. She has been a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and Gartner Institute Master Instructor for IT Project Management, ERP, and e-Business.

Tina remains actively involved in her community, having served on the Service Through Technology Task Force for the Greater Twin Cities United Way, and as Technology Committee Chair, Dakota County Economic Development Partnership. Tina was instrumental in the formation of the International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners, serving both on the Executive Board and as founder and board member of the Polar Chapter, Minneapolis. She is a long-term member of her city Park & Recreation commission. Hobbies include riding that Harley!
